Fall Update

Well, looks like I've been slackin' off here! So it's really fall...October, chilly mornings, leaves falling like confetti all around, beautiful!

I have been at my new job for three weeks now.  It is amazing.  At first, it was like culture shock.  Weird, since I didn't take a job in South America, or Haiti.  Just not in a hospital.  Not understaffed. Not overworked.  No crabby, grumpy, complaining people!  And I love it.  I get to take care of people.  I get to make their surgical experience better, and just focus on nursing. Not politics or red tape.  Just nursing.  And on top of all that, they keep sending us home early with pay! Thank you Jesus!

The school year is well underway and we are finally adjusting with schedules.  I am trying to be more organized each week.  I have this giant corkboard in the kitchen (household headquarters it seems!), and it is divided up for each child and holds artwork.  The bottom has a file folder for each school kid with papers in it that we need (permission slips, book orders, etc), and the top has a dry erase board for each school kid for jotting notes.  (I added the dry erase this week!)  Getting better.  David is starting to really get a hang of the reading bit, and Andrew has almost mastered all his letters.  I'm so proud of my little students!!

My Bella is talking so much! Yesterday she was saying "love you" and she says "nite nite" and "bye bye" .  She is also fond of "no" and finally can say a name for Andrew (he is delighted!) "Droo".  Yesterday Andrew and Bella and I got out the Fisher Price Little People bin and sat down and just played in the floor together.  It was so neat because she is finally big enough to really play with us! I loved every minute of it! It was just like when David and Andrew were both at home all day with me. I am so glad we had our children close together!

Lastly, we have started the last remodel room! Demo took us two weekends, and it was a lot of work.  Tomorrow Joe will run the plumbing!  I can't wait til it's done! I have the furniture all picked out!!

Well , there's the update! Whew...I feel better:)

A Real Walker!

As of late, our Bella has really started walking! I mean, it's now officially her preferred mode of transportation.   In this picture, we had gone to play at the mall play area, and I looked over and saw her walking to this slide. So, I sat back and watched as she climbed the stairs and slid down, completely independently over, and over!!! I am not sure how, but I think I have a toddler here!
Take me for a ride Davie!!!

I love being a mom to these little precious kids!! Thank you Lord!
Bella hopped on back of Andrew's plasma car. She's not content to just watch anymore!!

Aliens

So, these are my spywear-wearing, lightsaber-yielding, overall clad little men.   How  I love them!!

Andrew's First Day of Preschool

my little preschooler!!!

So, it's official...my Andrew is a preschooler! Last Monday was his first day of Preschool!! I can hardly believe it.  On Sunday night I went into his room and just cried as I watched my baby sleep...how could I send him to school? I just brought him home from the hospital yesterday!! But nonetheless, off to school he went! He had a great day.  He was so excited, and when we arrived at his classroom, all he kept saying was, "Mommy can I pleeeeaaaase go play???"  No tears.  I did get two hugs before I left and he told me he would miss me so much.  (I am sure I missed him more).   It's so crazy....it's like I drop him off and part of me stays behind, there in the classroom, my heart walking around wearing a backpack... what a crazy love this is....makes me wonder if God feels like this about us....

A hug outside the building. I love these little boys!!!
Ready to go conquer the world!

Last Call Shift!

Today was my last scheduled call shift at the hospital! I am so happy to have this part of my job done for now.  This morning I was called in at 5 am to arrive at 7, and when I got up at 6:20, so did David, with a sore throat and very sad that I was heading off to work.  My only comfort was knowing that there are no more weekend shifts in the near future! The new job starts in two weeks, and there are no nights or weekends, or holidays to be concerned about!  Just nursing. Just simple daytime, periop nursing!  I really think this will make things so much simpler for our family, and it is such a blessing how the Lord has worked it all out! I am so excited...and can't wait to turn that pager in on Tuesday!!!

David Starts Kindergarten!!

My little Kindergartener!!!
Well, yesterday was David's first day of Kindergarten.  He was so excited!  In the morning he kept yelling, "First day of school!" while I took his picture outside :) then we got to school and it was quite overwhelming! There were hundreds of people lined up outside in the playground! Eventually we were lead inside to his classroom, where his teacher read "The Kissing Hand".  He began sobbing when I left. Then I stood outside his room sobbing, and continued to cry intermittently ALL DAY!  It was only a half day, and I think I was doing some anticipatory crying for the first full day....which was today.  However, today went very very well! Thank you Lord!  No tears.  He likes being at school all day! He likes eating lunch at school! Thank you Lord!  Tonight it was David's turn to pray for bedtime, and he prayed, "Thank you God for my school.  Thank you for my new friends.  Thank you for signing me up.  "  My soul is relieved :)  Wow, what a week!
Riding off to school!!

Posing and showing off his superhero backpack :)

One more summer sleepover!

Friday, Adan got to spend the evening and night with us again. He came to Little Ninjas and then we had a fun camp fire and s'mores at home!  The boys had so much fun playing together (especially when Daddy got the new fireman pole up and running on the playscape the next morning!!).  Here are our campfire pics!

love the new chairs!!!
